Joy Division – Transmission (1979)
Joy Division publicó Transmission en Factory Records en octubre de 1979 en formato de 7″, y lo volvió a publicar como single de 12″ con una portada diferente en diciembre de 1980. Esta es una versión en directo tomada de la serie de la BBC Something Else, grabada el 15 de septiembre de 1979. Joy Division también interpretó She’s Lost Control durante la misma aparición, que fue su tercera y última actuación televisiva antes de la muerte de Ian Curtis.
En febrero de 2015, BBC4 emitió un nuevo documental sobre el ascenso a la fama de la banda y examinó la influencia de Joy Division en la escena musical de Mánchester, incluyendo material raro e inédito del grupo.
Joy Division fue una banda inglesa de post‑punk/rock formada en 1976 en Salford, Mánchester. Originalmente llamada Warsaw, la banda estaba compuesta por Ian Curtis (voz), Bernard Sumner (guitarra), Peter Hook (bajo) y Stephen Morris (batería).
En 1980, Ian Curtis se suicidó. El resto del grupo continuó como New Order, incorporando a Gillian Gilbert, novia de Morris como teclista y con Bernard Sumner asumiendo el papel de vocalista.
