The Rural Alberta Advantage – Falling Apart

Toronto indie folk band The Rural Alberta Advantage is back with Falling Apart, a new single released on October 15th, 2025, which will be included in their much-awaited sixth studio album.
The song continues the distinctive live energy they use to make new songs, starting in the rehearsal room and taking the final shape in a live performance. Falling Apart is inspired by lead singer Nils Edenloff‘s first guitar, an acoustic old Martin that’s nearly 100 years old. The track is arranged with heavy percussion, dynamic backing vocals, and Edenloff’s voice commanding full attention in the verses.
The band is touring in Germany and Austria in December, playing several shows with fellow Toronto-based band MOONRIIVR, before returning to the US to tour in February. Listen to the song in this live video filmed by Mat Fabijanic and edited by Abigail Hendrix.
Lyrics
All falling apart now, you know
Lazy heart, to the bones
Giving you up and then
Hope it’s following a plan
The body bides to the course
The wolves descend in full force
Giving you up and then
I hope it’s following your plan again
Shouldn’t I be running down the lines alone?
Shouldn’t I be crossing the wolves on my own?
Oh, we’ve been lucky for awhile
At least, more than I could have known
Oh let’s play on hard
Bring the wolves full force
It’s all falling apart now, you know
Lazy heart, to the bones
Picking us up and then
Hope we’re following a plan now
Shouldn’t I be running down the lines alone?
Shouldn’t I be facing the fears on my own?
Oh, we’ll been lucky for awhile
At least, more than I could have shown
Oh let’s play on hard
Bring the wolves full force
Let’s play on hard
Bring the wolves full force
