Gig review: The Critters Acts Tour, Valencia 2025

After Madrid, Valencia hosted the next stop of The Critters Acts Tour, the second concert in celebration of Raw Critters’s 15th anniversary. On October 25th, we featured three local acts: Oh! Marlene from Alicante, singer-songwriter Paz Aguado from Formentera, and SIX to FIX from Valencia.
Our traveling festival includes 9 Critters Acts from the latest edition, which means moving 28 artists across 4 countries. And adding cities like Valencia to the route is no easy task.
Many venues have shut down, and others have surrendered to the tribute fever, that dreadful kind of show where a group of men (rarely women) misinterpret other people’s music. They indeed fill the bars, and thanks to that, some places stay open. That’s how we managed to play at Matisse Club, one of the few venues that still let you bring your own sheet music.
Let’s hope the Levantine scene eventually clears up from all these musical doubles, otherwise, we’ll end up with bands performing covers of themselves.
Oh! Marlene

The first chords of this tour through the Valencian lands were struck by Oh! Marlene. The band from Alicante surprised everyone with Ana Guillamó’s powerful voice and a set of perfectly crafted songs that could easily top the charts.
Since their formation in 2021, Oh! Marlene has been gradually fitting the pieces together, and their hard work shows on stage. With determination, Ana, Enrique Eloy, and Maxi have shaped their live sound into a perfectly balanced performance. They’re an outstanding band, the kind that belongs on a major festival stage, with thousands of fans singing their lyrics.
Their time will come. And while it does, the audience in Valencia who came to see this tour can say they had the privilege of seeing them play before anyone else. Some of us have already heard them in acoustic format, with a very pleasant sound, but Oh! Marlene was made to make you feel every beat.
Paz Aguado

After the intensity of Oh! Marlene, Paz Aguado took the stage, and the night turned to magic. The Valencian singer-songwriter, now based in Formentera, brought with her the breeze that brushes through Mediterranean forests, wrapped in melodies that highlighted her essence and evoked other worlds.
Watching her on stage is like witnessing a spell between her and the audience. Paz radiates such magnetism that even when tuning her guitar, it feels as though she were holding a sacred instrument. The reverence with which she approaches her work makes her seem almost mystical.
Her songs speak of what surrounds her, her experiences, her thoughts, and her dreams. You can feel them through her and her musicians, Patricio Felip and Cani Huertas, who created a unique atmosphere with influences ranging from flamenco to blues. The trio holds in their hands an unusual project that captivates with its authenticity and the sheer beauty of its music. Without a doubt, Paz Aguado delivered the most moving performance I’ve attended in years.
SIX to FIX

SIX to FIX closed the night playing in their hometown, which welcomed them with open arms. The indie rock band, infused with pop and electronic touches, has taken a big step forward by incorporating Spanish into their songs, a change that’s clearly worked in their favor. They’re still true to themselves, but now they sound better than ever. Plus, Alfonso (vocals), Sergio (guitar), Pau (bass), and Adrián (drums) are relaxed and having fun on stage, spreading that joy to the audience.
Their repertoire is extensive, and the set list changes from one show to the next. At Raw Critters, we’ve seen them many times, and they still manage to surprise us with their song choices, even more so now that they perform in two languages. The transition has been smooth, and the new tracks blend beautifully with the old ones. SIX to FIX never writes a bad song, which makes it easy for everything to come together.
We hope this transformation opens many doors for them and that more people get to enjoy their music, just like we did, watching them play the final notes of the Critters Acts Tour in the city of Valencia.
